Thymosin beta-4, the protein TB-500 relates to, has 43 amino acids and is one of the main actin-binding proteins in mammalian cells — actin being the filament a cell uses to move.

It came from stomach juice
BPC-157 derives from a sequence identified in a protein found in human gastric juice. 'BPC' stands for Body Protection Compound, a name given during that early research.
